Rough Terrain Cranes on the Job: Bay Crane Staging Yard

Rough terrain cranes in New York City

In New York City and the surrounding areas, Tadano rough terrain cranes are a flexible addition to the Bay Crane fleet. Tadano America recently visited their staging yard in Queens, where cranes are stored and staged for transport.

Tadano rough terrain cranes are regularly used to lift 1000 pound trailers that are then loaded with counterweight for jobs around the five Bay Crane locations.

Rough Terrain Cranes a True Cost Savings for the City

According to Bay Crane VP of Sales and Marketing Dave Dewitt, the 15 ton GR-150XL and the 35 ton GR-350XL are especially useful because they can travel on city streets. Crane operators on-site that day also said they appreciated some of the smaller details of Tadano cranes, like air conditioning and good visibility.

Eliminating the need for trailer transport is a good cost savings for the companies that rent these smaller cranes. “The Tadano rough terrain cranes have good suspension. They move at 25 mph and ride like a truck.” remarked Dewitt.
